Attention American Jews:

It has come to our attention that some of you may not be aware that the celebration of Hanukah was moved due to a scheduling conflict. To better accomodate the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, your holiday was rescheduled to December 6th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may pose to Jews who were unaware of the change.
WASHINGTON [Tue Dec 6] - Hanukkah does not start until Dec. 25 this year but it was observed early at the White House on Tuesday evening.

I don't care about the timing, but the image of President Bush with a lit candle is absolutely terrifying.

No kidding. Next thing you know they'll let him have sharp objects (like scissors and stuff). Its not clear from the picture, but the article does at least hint that their might have been adult supervision while Bush played with fire.

I'm afraid that indignity probably fell upon the Secret Service.

Author and TTYSI, remember when we discussed whether Bush would have the courage of his convictions and veto the McCain Amendment? It now appears unlikely. What leadership the "ilk" have given us, when doing the right thing is overwhelmingly popular (90 something senators), they'll do it.
